Dr. Gaie Feuerstein-Smith D.C.
Dr. Gaie Feuerstein DC received her chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles, California in 1986. She and her husband, Dr. Brian R. Smith DC, opened Fresno Holistic Chiropractic Center, a clinic with emphasis on environmental illness and nutrition in Fresno, California in 1987. Ten years later the couple relocated to Maui, Hawaii, where they practiced for thirteen years in Hana, an isolated rural area. This unique situation provided Dr. Gaie the opportunity to learn about the traditional Hawaiian approach to healing, herbology and body work. For several years she partnered with a classical homeopath, Shone Edel, in developing an interdisciplinary approach to alternative healing called Vibrational Integration.
Dr. Gaie's primary chiropractic approach is Applied Kinesiology including the specialty areas, Neuro Emotional Technique and Quintessential Applications, a neurology-based diagnostic and treatment protocol utilizing AK methodology. She is also a practitioner of Quantum Reflex Analysis and has developed a specialized protocol for using medicinal clays for detoxification and restoration of the body's energy field, called Targeted Clay Therapy. Dr. Gaie also specializes in the detection of hidden dental infection and its affect on body systems and has worked extensively with biological dentists in Hawaii and Alabama.
In 2011 Dr. Gaie became a certified GAPS practitioner after completing her training with Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD who has pioneered dietary treatment for those on the autism spectrum and others with mental disorders related to impaired digestive function.
Dr. Gaie's extensive knowledge of alternative medicine and years of clinical experience have led her to focus on chronic, difficult and unusual cases which require more time and personal attention and she enjoys being able to delve deeply into a case, investigate it like a detective, and guide and encourage her patients toward recovery.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Gaie frequently lectures to small groups about health topics. In 2010 Dr. Gaie and Dr. Brian relocated their practice to Mobile, Alabama to be near their children and grandchildren.
Dr. Brian Smith D.C. LMT.
As a young child Dr. Brian was in an auto accident that brought on severe migraines. Drugs were no help but he found relief in the chiropractor's office and became convinced that alternative medicine was effective. His commitment to natural healthcare led him to Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles where he received his chiropractic degree in 1985.
In 1987 Dr. Brian Smith and his soon-to-be wife, Dr.Gaie Feuerstein, opened Fresno Holistic Chiropractic Center, a chiropractic clinic with emphasis on environmental illness and nutrition in Fresno, California. Dr. Brian specialized in Applied Kinesiology as well as several methods of spinal and extremity correction. In 1997 the family relocated to Maui, Hawaii, where they practiced for thirteen years in Hana, an isolated rural area with limited medical resources and a huge pass-through population of tourists. In this unique situation, cases ranged from diving accidents to Dengue Fever which provided a challenging and exciting practice. In addition to private practice Dr. Brian was on urgent-call for the Hotel Hana-Maui resort, for staff and guests.Often the challenge was to save someone's vacation from being ruined by a painful injury which led him to specialize in "fix-it" sessions using all his skills for fast pain relief, naturally.
Dr. Brian has a problem-solving, investigative approach to pain and spinal dysfunction and is fascinated with the science and practice of natural healing methods. This led him to become certified in acupuncture and several styles of therapeutic massage including Hawaiian bodywork, called lomi lomi. All his skills and experience are incorporated into his unique "fix-it" sessions.
In 2010 Dr. Brian and his wife relocated to Mobile, Alabama to be near their children and grandchildren. When not in the office or busy being a grandpa, Dr. Brian enjoys organic gardening and exploring Alabama's beaches and parks.
